A Lululemon-sponsored short doc chronicling the story of 2x Team Canada Paralympic Snowboarder John Leslie.
In collaboration with lululemon, we partnered with former Canadian Paralympian John Leslie to create a short-documentary about John’s life as a professional athlete and cancer survivor.
The initial plan was to capture John’s journey as he hiked Whistler’s famous Spearhead Traverse. Unfortunately, due to the unforeseen circumstances around the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to pivot in a different direction. While managing all aspects of production including hotel bookings, equipment procurement, scheduling, and safety management, we were ultimately able to gather enough footage of John as he hiked into Whistler’s backcountry and boarded some magical runs in the setting sun.
Through the challenges of a global pandemic, all parties were incredibly proud to share our final product - an inspirational short-documentary that speaks to John’s resiliency and dedication to sport – attributes that aligned perfectly with lululemon’s organizational values.
Our friend and frequent collaborator Ben Grayzel was brought on as an additional cinematographer to capture John’s hike through Whistler’s backcountry.
