A fashion short film for the women's apparel brand alongside stills photographer Trevor Brady.
Fashion photographer and previous Arkavis collaborator Trevor Brady approached us to accompany him on a shoot for State of Underdress. The apparel brand had requested both still photography and video to showcase their Fall/Winter 2022 collection. We would capture video footage while working in tandem with Brady, who was in charge of still photography.
Shooting took place at Sunset Beach, Yaletown, and Gastown over the course of a frigid, rainy day. The cast and crew had to navigate the logistical difficulties of a run-and-gun style shoot in the rain. Camera equipment and costumes had to be kept (relatively) dry; flexibility and adaptability was necessary with unpredictable animal subjects; a tight schedule had to be maintained because of the time constraints of location permits.
All necessary footage was captured and delivered to the client. Still photography from Trevor Brady and video footage from Arkavis is currently featured on the State of Underdress website and social media, as part of their Fall/Winter 2022 campaign.
On-set talent included models Kristy McQuade and Amanda Messer, as well as several stunt horses provided by veteran movie horse wrangler Jamie Payton and his team. Other members of the crew included Yohan Kim (Stills Assistant), Marco Alecci (Hair/Makeup), Sarah Danniels (Styling), Richard Amies (Location), and Cartouche Media (Production).
